Habitus Living - Napier St

Our Napier Street residence in Fitzroy has been profiled in Habitus Living as an inventive renewal of a Victorian cottage for contemporary life.

Retaining the intimacy of the original frontage, the design extends to the rear and upwards, creating light-filled new living spaces that respond to the rhythm of neighbouring terraces. Original brickwork anchors the house’s history, while blackened steel, woven façade screens, and a laser-cut staircase add a modern layer of craft and openness.

Sustainability was central, with solar panels, an underground water tank, low-energy fixtures, and the use of local, low-VOC materials ensuring the project is as environmentally conscious as it is historically respectful.

The article highlights Napier Street as a home that balances heritage with bold new architecture — a hallmark of our collaborative, context-sensitive approach.
