Old Eltham House
Old Eltham House is a quiet, grounded home shaped by its bushland setting. Sitting among established eucalypts, the house uses a restrained palette of masonry, timber, glass and steel to create spaces that feel warm, open and closely connected to the landscape.
A low roof plane, exposed timber beams and generous glazing give the home a strong sense of shelter while drawing light deep into the interior. Living spaces open onto decks and garden outlooks, allowing the surrounding trees to become part of the daily experience of the house. Rather than relying on excess, the architecture finds strength in proportion, material clarity and a careful balance between openness and retreat.
