Agnii Eatery Bar
Located on Chapel Street in Windsor, Agnii Eatery Bar brings a contemporary interpretation of Sri Lankan hospitality to Melbourne's dining scene.
Working closely with acclaimed chef Gayan Pieris, Mills Gorman developed the architecture and interior design to reflect his vision of a dining experience deeply connected to culture, tradition and the elemental nature of cooking with fire.
At the heart of the restaurant sits an open kitchen incorporating traditional clay hearths, creating a focal point that connects the culinary experience with the surrounding dining spaces.
The interior draws inspiration from the warmth and earthiness of these traditional cooking methods. Rich terracotta tones, natural materials, textured surfaces and layered lighting establish an intimate and inviting atmosphere, while carefully considered joinery, furnishings and architectural details bring a contemporary refinement to the space.
A balance between raw materiality and refined detailing creates an environment that feels warm, authentic and enduring, allowing the architecture to complement the restaurant's distinctive culinary identity.
